Product accreditation

To be able to use the Gut Friendly logo on your products, you will need to apply for accreditation. Products will need to meet the GUT HEALTH SA mandate

  • Improves the well-being of the gut microbiome
  • Benefits the human host’s microbiome
  • Doesn’t harm gut microbiome of gut microbiota
  • Doesn’t damage the gut lining

Food safety of production facility needs to be checked. GMP – good manufacturing practices need to be adhered to. You do not need to be an audited facility. You do need to have a valid COA from your municipality .Once accredited your company and products will be listed on GUT HEALTH SA website.


This will apply to practitioners. You will need to prove your qualification and verification of equipment (that it is safe, serviced regularly etc.)

Food Safety Audit – COMING SOON

Small businesses are not able to afford a full time QC. The GUT HEALTH SA food safety program will help members to get their business and facility audited (FSA) and for them to have access to a food safety program which will be done over 12 or 24 months. Once audited, you will be able to sell your products to all major retailers in SA
You will need to complete the training program and deliverables in each month
to complete the program in the prescribed time. The audit is charged separately by an independent company.
